GoodGoing! presents the benefits of Career Coaching for changing work to the Association of Engineers

Some time ago the Association of Engineers of Turin organised an evening dedicated to the ”Flexible Engineer!”

The flexible Engineer

Flexibility and coaching

While on the one hand an engineering degree represents the foundations for any type of professional development: from a technical engineer, to an entrepreneur, to the CEO of any type of industry or service company... on the other hand the crisis hasn’t even spared engineering. So we need flexibility and the knowledge of instruments supporting flexibility over and above traditional training and refresher courses.

One of these "instruments" is proficiency in looking for work. “Knowing how to look for work” is a skill like knowing how to use a PC, email, social media, English and networking, which unlike other skills is not taught anywhere yet.

Cristina Gianotti of GoodGoing! was one of the promoters of the event at the Association, since she is also a member of the Association of Engineers of the Province of Turin and is one of the speakers. Aside from talking about methodology, she brought a couple of concrete examples from her experience in supporting engineers both as employees and consultants in the development of their professional career. This experience stems from another venture launched by the Association of Engineers of the Province of Milan called DevelopING, that is still available at the Association of Engineers of Milan for its members.

Mafalda Simeoni is a woman that has kept an "unsophisticated " perspective of things - like a rebellious girl - and she is concerned with the world, especially the working world. She asks candid and disarming questions which are difficult and sometimes even impossible to answer. They are questions that show the contradictions and difficulties of the world, but Mafalda has decided to help to answer these in a mature fashion.
